Healthcare
As part of your tuition, the McKinley Health Center provides many services at low or no cost. Find more info here.
Additionally, the Health Resource Centers provide several services at no additional cost to you including over-the-counter painkillers, home pregnancy tests, and wound care kits. Find more info here.
Reproductive healthcare is available in the State of Illinois. McKinley Health Center publishes this guide to pregnancy decision making. Planned Parenthood is the only termination provider in the area, up to 10-11 weeks. If you need services outside of this window, they should be able to give you options in Springfield.
For LGBTQ+ affirming healthcare in the Champaign-Urbana area, the Affirming Healthcare Practitioner Network Directory can be a helpful resource.
If you are an undergraduate or graduate student, there is a high chance of being eligible for Carle financial assistance which gives you free or heavily discounted health care.
Food and Housing Insecurity
The Illinois student resources site includes a list of food pantries and housing assistance in the local area. You can find that list here.
A similar list is published by the City of Champaign.
